:)

Morning began with a beautiful squeaky fresh green juice. Easy to make and out of the sunshine pleasure winking taste.

'Rejuvelac!' It has been working for me and I love the stuff! Sometimes I add lemon yet I do love the taste of it on its own.

Some homemade almond milk with date and vanilla in it, soured. Don't know if I ought to drink it or not. It is beside my computer here so I can stare at it and ponder the decision. Dang, where is my courage? I want someone to tell me it is ok, that they drank it and survived the experience with no undesired side effects. I love the taste of it. Ah Shucks, I ain't gunna risk it, this time.

I made crackers and chips with veggies and fruits today as well as falafel, mango chutney and kelp noodles with tomato/olive pesto. (the pesto is raw and purchased at a local organic market)

Crackers and chips vary with tastes of lemon, grapefruit, and spicy veggie, thus far. All taste wicked, says me. The thing I don't like to do so much of yet, is write down the measurements as I experiment. I am getting close to doing so. One batch of chips is light and crunchy; they are truly chips and dehydrated in low temp in the dehydrator.

enticing green Felafel!

Supper, hmmm I forget the time. Kelp noodles with tomato pesto, felafel-- the newly made are the green patties, the brown felafel was from an older batch. Thumbs up the green felafels rule, mango chutney-- you really gota to try it(!), salad with sesame tahini dressing, and fresh green beans. There are wonderful riches in our foods, and eaten raw, you truly-significantly-benefit!

Salads

To try this week using nut/seed cheese.

Spotted this video last night. Will try it out very soon… prolly this week or the weekend. I will use nut/seed cheese and prolly grape seed oil. Bittman doesn't know about raw butternut squash soup I guess. You find it further down on this blog.

Throughout this day I enjoyed mango (only one and not before bed), veggie juice mixed with rejuvelac, a bosc pear, veggie crackers, a couple of the grapefruit snaps (testing them as they dehydrate), and…

a veggie plate with sunflower pate and tahini dressing as dips MMMMM

In the evening I attended a gathering where I learned to prepare the most useful vegetable wraps, a milder felafel than I generally make, greek salad and cherry tarts. I took my camera and forgot to take pictures! Enamoured with the food, you know, it took my complete focus. Samples were served which all tasted amazing/delicious! When I prepare these interesting and easy to prepare dishes of the evening, which I aim to get at right away, pictures will be posted.

It was a busy day and the destination took in 4 hours of driving to get there and return home. I tired not through the entire day/evening and made it home in record time. The drive through mountains is best done in the day time, and I was prepared to sleep in my car if need be. Life is a marvellous journey.

On the way home I ate bing cherries… LOT's of'em and a bite of cheese cake when I returned home. The cherries were heavenly blissful… the cheese cake was a complete surprise(!) Best raw cheese cake I have tasted and I have sampled many. WOW!

point form kinda day

I only have one picture of my food for the day. I forgot to take a picture of the grapefruit snaps I made with grapefruit pulp. I ate them all! More are dehydrating and I will take a photo of the that batch dried.

7:30 AM REJUVELAC!! heh

9:35 AM grapefruit snaps

10:30 AM 2 grapefruit juiced and more grapefruit snaps

A nectarine prolly about 4:00 PM

Some veggie juice mixed with rejuvelac.

Sunflower pate on a small chunk of lettuce while making dinner oh and some veggie crackers and grapefruit snaps.

7:15 PM a salad with sunflower pate - the salad was of lettuce(red) some romaine, sweet red pepper, dandelion leaves, water cress, radishes, topped with heritage tomato and lemon tahini dressing. Yes, as a matter of fact… it tasted terrifically delicious!

Before bed… one Mango! This too will cease.

Beginning of August

grapefruit and raw soaked dehydrated pecans

It only improves a morning to feast on lemon juice in rejuvelac followed by 2 juiced grapefruit and a handful of pecans.

Citri Star juicer

I use the 'Citri Star juicer' for juicing citrus juice. The pulp comes out fairly wet, unlike using the champion juicer. Citrus pulp easily clogs the champion. The Citri Star juicer is the easiest device to clean!

Beautiful Fresh Pink Grapefruit Juice

great for cleansing and encouraging weight loss

pear with hemp butter and sliced kiwi

3:06 PM This snack experiment is an immediate favourite! I ate two whole pears which was one pear too much.

5:55 PM an OMG Mango! :)

veggies and spices in the blender. Lot's of pepper, eh

voila(!) Butternut Soup, just like that!

sprouted rye berries dehydrated into rye toast

6:32 PM Butternut soup with a piece of the rye toast.

Before bed-- A MANGO!

The last day of July already!

Another batch of veggie crackers finished. I love how they turn out with the colours green on one side, red on the other side. I snacked on some for breakfast with lemon juice.

organic cantaloupe

3:16 PM Definitely ready for some rejuvelac and some cantaloupe.

organic peach

organic pecan nuts

4:21 PM Peach with a few pecans… a super combo!

5:01 PM a tall glass of lemon juice mixed with water. I was busy outdoors nurturing the plants. They have a lack of sun where the gardens sit and also a lack of heat to deal with. They are smiling this morning. I noticed how much they perked up last night already; they being basil, sweet pepper and tomato plants.

Supper was late, again, after 7:00 PM. This salad and some lasagna from yesterday was it. The lasagna had turned to tasting like vinegar. It contained no acid except tomato. The cheese made with rejuvelac was layered in the lasagna. The combination with the tomato must have been perfect to ferment overnight into vinegar. The cheese made with rejuvelac better suits my palate yet the seed/nut cheese made with probiotics was tasty in the lasagna and didn't ferment the dish into vinegar. Possibly Ann Wigmore has something to say about this matter; at least about the cheese made with rejuvelac. I have never read anything about her ever using probiotics for food fermentation.

A mango before bed. :)

Lasagna again oo la la

Breakfast started at 11:00 AM with lemon juice and rejuvelac followed by vegetable/fruit juice.
It led to a few veggie crackers.

3:00 PM an enjoyable slow eating small dish of granola with bits of cacao nibs, goji berries, dried currants, dried coconut, sunflower seeds, and ground pecans covered with almond milk.

the pulp from juicing spiced up with herbs and sea salt; will become crackers in the dehydrator

The rye bread is ready to eat. It tastes like rye bread and looks as if it had been baked and toasted, interesting. It is rarely that I eat grains. For years they have been high on my list of poorest choice of food.

rye berries beginning to sprout for the next batch of rejuvelac, beautiful kernels!

freshly made marinara sauce for lasagna

layering the plate with marinara sauce and zucchini

a layer of yam angel hair noodles topped with the seed/nut cheese

decorated with fresh basil leaves is the lasagna ready for the dehydrator

fresh from the dehydrator ready to eat!

Ready to eat a bit past 7:00 PM, the lasagna was divine! I ate seconds then ate a piece of the toast. :)

Sometime during the day I also ate a kiwi, pear and mango. Today definitely saw me eating a lot.(then 3 mangoes before bed! these cases of organic mango are unblemished, extraordinary, very fleshy a rare find)

Also please watch the Forgiveness video…
Could you do the same?

Before Breakfast mejool dates were covered in water to soak. One will be used in making a batch of almond milk.

Almonds that soaked for at least 12 hours were drained and rinsed ready for me to individually peel off the brown skin. It is a process I like to do in case there are any almonds that have turned bad, which happens, and so far in every batch I have soaked and peeled.

I then had fresh squeezed lemon in rejuvelac and water then a glass of fresh juiced vegetable with added apple and orange.

Lunch became crackers with hemp butter and some with lettuce and mustard vinaigrette together with a small cupful of the breakfast juice. It worked.

During the day I also ate two mangoes, a large plum and a kiwi fruit and a handful of crackers and a weensy bit of dehydrated crackers.

It is withdrawal day for the coffee I drank on Wednesday. Withdrawal time after a cup of coffee is always 2 days. I don't get as much accomplished on withdrawal day since I lose my interest in doing. My roomy invited me to a boat ride which I excitedly accepted. It was terrific to get out on the water. We didn't have far to go for water, across the why and down a mile and we were at the boat oaring area of Elk Lake. I return home very tired and hungry for supper.

ground sunflower seeds, pepita and almonds all soaked and processed with rejuvelac

the mixture covered in cheese cloth, set in the warm place atop the dehydrator to ferment into seed/nut cheese

The sprouted rye berries left over from making rejuvelac were ground in the food processor with some added celtic salt, shaped into narrow slices of bread on telex sheets, ready for the dehydrator. They dehydrated over night at a low temperature of 100 degrees F.

The rye toast, vegetable/flax crackers, soaked pecans-- on dehydrator trays.
